African Heritage House & Kitengela Glass House
This is like going through traditional Africa and especially African huts and arts from one stop. Having been a co-founder of the African Heritage Gallery together with Kenya’s second vice president, the owner, American Alan Donovan is both unreserved in his collection of African art as well as varied. Everything from jewelry, musical instruments, home appliances, decorative pieces as well as fabric is to be found here.
The house itself combines several models of huts from all over Africa. A restaurant within the house offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and is delightfully prepared and presented. The fact that you can enjoy your meals as you enjoy the views of Nairobi National Park from the facility adds that extra magic to the whole experience.
You then proceed to Kitengela Glass house which primarily is a show case of astoundingly beautiful and creative pieces of furniture, house appliances, jewelry and other house décor stuff from recycled glass. All the way from the kiln to the display shelves, you experience the art of glass blowing and are able to see the finished products as well as buy some, whether as souvenirs or other functional items. You could add excitement into the visit by using their suspension bridge that hangs over a deep riverine gorge.
After you can have a meal here or be dropped at your hotel.
