It’s an easy half day hike through a montane vegetation. There’s only one track up and down the mountain covering a distance of about 9 kms. The thick forest cover of the mountain may obscure the view of all the animals that call this mountain home including Buffalo, Leopard, Aardvark, Olive Baboons, Porcupine, Moongose and Dik Dik. On the way you pass by Sir William Mcmillan, a super wealthy British Rancher, Big Game hunter and Rancher, whose wish upon death in France had been stated prior: to be buried in this mountain. On days when the clouds are clear you see the peaks of both Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Kenya, Africa’s first and second highest peaks.
You enjoy picnic lunch at the base of the mountain or at the nearby and scenic 14 falls before visiting the falls and transfer back to Nairobi.
